Versa Lok Retaining Wall Installation, Petaluma, CA

If you are a residential or commercial property owner looking for a Retaining Wall Installation, take a look at this project we completed in Petaluma, Ca.

How Did We Do It?

Assessing Your Needs and Planning:

A return client in Petaluma, Ca requested that Adobe Construction install a Versa-Lok retaining wall adjacent to a gravel parking area.  The client wanted to use the wall to both define the parking area and prevent soil from mixing with gravel.  The proposed wall exceeds 100ft in length, we couldn’t wait to take this project on for our client.

Preparing the Site:

The work site was adjacent to a gravel parking area with nothing but soil in the area of installation.  Our first preparation measure was to lay out the site by using a string line and painting the area where our wall footing would be installed.  After layout was complete we used the excavator to remove the soil where the retaining wall footing would be installed.  As we excavated the soil we used our Spectra leveling laser to confirm that our footing would be level.

Installing Gravel Footing:

After reviewing the Versa Lok installation specifications, we installed the footing.  Using our plate compactor we compacted it and then checked that it was level with our leveling laser.  After triple checking that our base was level we began installing blocks!

Installing Versa Lok Blocks:

We began the retaining wall block installation by making sure our first course was perfectly level.  We use both traditional levels and our Spectra laser to confirm that our first course is perfectly level, if not then the final product suffers.  After our first row was triple checked we began installing the remaining rows.  To make moving the blocks easier, we used our CAT Skid Steer to move the blocks on the pallet which kept our project productivity up.

Conclusion:

The wall speaks for itself, both Adobe Construction and our Petaluma based client were very happy with the finished product.  Our client stated that it almost looks, “Too good” which is what we strive for.  We always enjoy working with the Versa-Lok product because it is a substantial product that provides a great finished product.  It addition it happens to be produced locally in Marin County!
