Adobe Construction Company was hired as a subcontractor by a local custom home builder to help their client prepare for a concrete driveway installation. This job involved grading, excavating, drainage work, and general site work. Read below for further job details!
How Did We Do It?
Assessing Your Needs and Planning:
This project was brought to our attention by a custom home builder who is in the process of completing an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) build in Novato, Ca. The builder contacted Adobe Construction because they needed to have some finish grading, site preparation, and drainage work completed for their client before a concrete driveway was installed.
The home builder provided us with a set of plans and met with us on the first day of the project so that we were both on the same page to ensure a complete finished product.
Preparing the Site:
After meeting with the builder we used both our Spectra grading laser and marking paint to lay out the work site and visually identify the areas in which we would be working.
Excavating:
Following the preparation of the site we began excavating the drainage ditches as identified in the plans. We delivered smooth round 6″ drain rock to later backfill the main drainage trench after the installation of the concrete driveway. We off hauled the excavated spoils as we moved along to prevent an unsightly mess for both the builder and their client. We used our Spectra grade laser to ensure the excavated trenches were to specification and the builders requirements.
Change Order:
While we were on the job site the homeowner requested an additional area on the side of her home to be excavated to then develop an additional parking area. After confirming with the builder we were happy to perform the additional work which made both the homeowner and builder happy.
Conclusion:
This was a very enjoyable project for us in a beautiful Marin County setting. Both the homeowner and home builder were happy with the work performed by Adobe Construction. We hope to continue to develop a working relationship with the home builder and work on more projects with them in the future.
