Mill Valley Demolition, Excavation, and Grading.
The Project:
Great project on the 2024 calendar! Adobe Construction is performing all of the demolition, site work, excavating, and grading on this Mill Valley, Marin County project. We are very much grateful for this opportunity (as we are on every opportunity we have!) to assist the contractor with all of their earthwork and demolition requirements for this project. Take a look at the first phase photos for our current progress, keep in mind this was only 5 days of work!
Challenges:
As with any project within Mill Valley (or Marin County for that matter), access and traffic are always a concern. This lot required the removal of a fence and a couple small trees to be able to gain access with the equipment. Additionally, for the demolition phase, we were unable to bring trucks directly to the homes we were demolishing. We came up with a plan to bring the debris up the hill with our machinery to an area where we could load the debris boxes on the street level.
Structure Removal Process:
Prior to our mobilization, an abstetos abatement business arrived on scene to remove any hazardous materials from the interior of these aging homes. Upon equipment mobilization we started by removing the home the furthest from the street, then the small shed, then the parking garage, finishing with the small stumps and vegetation. All the material was divided up in such a way that wouldn’t slow production so that we could keep disposal costs as low as feasibly possible.
Debris Removal:
After all the building debris, concrete, and green waste was divided up and brought to an area of the job site where we could start disposing of it debris boxes were brought in and the off haul began. This site required many debris box loads which weren’t a problem as we were using our heavy equipment to load the boxes. This made for an easy site cleanup.
Conclusion:
Adobe Construction removed and demolished approximately 2000 sqft of old structures which were unable to be brought up to current code. While jobs that take place in Mill Valley and/or Marin County can be challenging we are always up for a challenge. In fact we look forward to problem solving with our client to come up with the most productive work flow possible to keep our clients project on track and running smoothly.
