Gravel Driveway and French Drain Installation, Petaluma, CA

If you are a residential or commercial property owner looking for a Gravel Driveway or French Drain Installation, take a look at this project we completed in Petaluma, Ca.

How Did We Do It?

Assessing Your Needs and Planning:

This project was brought to our attention by a returning Adobe Construction client, we strive to meet or exceed our clients expectations and very much appreciate our returning clients!  Our client had an existing overgrown secondary driveway on their property.  AC was hired to renew the area with a new gravel driveway and parking area.  In addition this particular area is a high side of their property so the client requested a French drain installation which includes downspout tie so that water doesn’t build up on the high side of the building.  Adobe Construction communicated a plan with the client who approved and construction began!

Preparing the Site:

The site was located adjacent to our clients house.  Prior to any finish work or drainpipe installation we needed to get the subsurface to a suitable grade.  This was a “design as we go” project meaning we completed the grading per the clients requests.  During this process we coordinated with Miguel at M&S Trucking to off haul un needed soil where it could be reused on a different job site.  After grading and soil removal our client was happy with the site preparation and gave the approval to move to the next phase.

Installing Drainage:

Following grading and site preparation we excavated a drainage trench which is sloped to encourage the flow of water away from our clients existing building.  We connected the buildings downspouts the drainage system so that all of the water that would have been standing against the foundation would instead be brought to a different area of the property.  The French Drain system was filled with drain rock and we proceeded to the final phase.

Installing Road Base:

We installed road base over fabric to both preserve the road base material and reduce the likelihood of weed growth.  Again we coordinated with M&S Trucking to deliver the exact material we needed when we needed it so we did not have excess waist of either time or materials which in turn makes the process efficient and saves our client money.  The new road material was compacted and ready for final inspection.

Conclusion:

Our client was very happy with this property upgrade so much so that they already booked Adobe Construction for future work!  We were very happy with the results and overall improvement to the property.  Its always nice to see a positive transformation.
